For Marine & Aeronautical Finishes. Developed especially to seal and shield against acid rain, sun, salt spray, bugs and other environmental acids. Easily applied and non-abrasive, this wax will prevent finish deterioration and the adhesion of foreign elements.

It's the MyBoatStore pick for maintaining new and like-new boats when using buffing equipment.

Collinite's No. 885 Fleetwax is our pick for maintaining new and like-new boats using buffing equipment!

This wax is our pick for maintaining new and like-new boats in their first few years of service when using buffing equipment, or you have plenty of "elbow grease" available!  For a wax that can be applied under a larger # of conditions; direct sunlight, hand applications, etc. please consider our Four Seasons Trewax.

Here are some guidelines to help you get the most benefit from your Collinite product.

  • The ideal temperature range for using Collinite products is between 60 and 85 degrees. Using the product when the temperature is less than 60 degrees could result in streaking or difficulty in removing the product from the finish.
  • Avoid Applying the product in direct sunlight. Try to work in the shade. The heat from the sun will accelerate the rate at which the wax sets up on your finish, and will make removing the product very difficult. Make sure the finish is approximately between 68 and 70 degrees.
  • Make sure the finish is clean and dry before applying any wax to avoid creating swirls.

  • Wax in a straight line, following the pattern that air would pass over your boat. Waxing in circles could lead to swirl marks.

  • Apply the product in small sections at a time, usually 2x2 or 3x3 foot areas at a time.

  • Use a soft-cotton cloth for your final buffing. Turn the cloth frequently and try to buff using straight lines.
