The
MyBoatStore Test Aside from the
Practical Sailor and Powerboat Reports study we decided to
put this product to our own test. We felt the perfect
candidate would be a small boat we've had for the past 17
years. When this boat was acquired we removed a piece
of hardware that had left "its mark" and that mark has
remained untouched for the past 17 years. That is
until we decided that stain had got to go!
For this test we utilized our
nylon brushes
set to work the surface per the instructions. This is
a rough surface so we had no reservations about the
stiffness of these brushes marring the surface.
(We would have used soft bristled brushes if this was a
deck, topsides, etc.) We applied the Rust
Stain Remover per the bottle's instructions and let set for
2 minutes time after which time we went to work with
additional Remover and brushes. Upon the first brush
stroke rust stain began to run off, and after 2 applications
and mild brush use, you can see the results.
Given the Rust Stain Removers handling of this 17 year old
stain, this one certainly gets the MyBoatStore nod of
approval.
